Until now, the golden hemlock was relegated to the shade. Thankfully, Monrovia has introduced a new variety, Golden Duke, that is at home in the sun or shade. A sport from Golden Duchess, this superb new conifer glows with golden-yellow foliage on graceful, upright and arching branches. A very slow growing tree, it can take up to 10 years to reach its mature height of 6 to 10 feet—making it ideal for ornamental rock gardens, containers and smaller garden designs.
