We love the new Thomas A Becket rose from David Austin Roses. Unlike many of Austin’s other roses, this rose has a more natural shrub habit similar to a species rose. Its blooms are more on the casual side, large and relaxed. The blooms are visually appealing and the scent is intoxicating as well.

Common Name: Thomas A Becket rose
Botanical name: Rosa ‘Thomas A Becket’
Height: 4 feet
Width: 3 feet
Blooms: Crimson
Bloom time: Early summer till frost
USDA Zones: 5–9

Plant in full sun to part shade. This rose is disease resistant, highly fragrant and offers repeating blooms throughout the year. This is a strong rose that grows in an informal shrub shape, ideal for denoting different areas in a garden, as a strong presence along a wall or fence or as a splash of color when incorporated in a garden bed design.
