Virtues: We love 'Chocolate Sunrise' canna for its contrast of bright orange-yellow flowers against chocolate-colored foliage. Cultivated in a delicate breeding program in the Middle East, blooms appear in spring and last throughout the summer and fall, attracting bees and butterflies.

Common Name: Chocolate Sunrise

Botanical Name:Canna indica

Foliage:Dark brown/bronze leaves with hints of purple

Habit: Tight, clumping habit growing 4 feet tall with a 3-foot spread

Origin: Israel

Cultivation: Thrives in a moist and well-drained soil. In fall, remove rhizomes and store them in a cool and dry place for the winter. Deadhead to extend blooming. Full sun to partial shade. Zones 7b-11.
