Virtues: We love 'Autumn Magic' black chokeberry for its small, round dark purple to black berries in the fall and its white petals in the spring.
Common Name: 'Autumn Magic' black chokeberry
Botanical Name:Aronia melanocarpa 'Autumn Magic'
Flower/fruit: Clusters of dense five-petaled white flowers in the spring.
Foliage: Glossy green leaves in the summer and exceptionally fine purple-red leaves in the fall.
Habit: Upright, multi-stemmed shrub with suckers. Mature height and width are 3 to 6 feet.
Origin: Native species.
Cultivation: Full sun to partial shade. Tolerates both dry and wet sites. Prefers acidic soil. USDA Zones 3–8.
