North Carolina Arboretum to host historical exhibit of Cherokee and British relations
On September 4, 2010, the North Carolina Arboretum, in Asheville, will open an exhibit that depicts the changing relationship of the Cherokees and the British in 1762 as they emerged from war with one another and made peace. The exhibit, called Emissaries of Peace: The 1762 Cherokee and British Delegations, first appeared at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian. Full of artifacts and documents, it will reside at the NC Arboretum through May 15, 2011. See www.ncarboretum.org.
Cape Clogs shoe company donates to Hope in Bloom
Hope in Bloom is a Massachusetts organization that donates gardens to women and men being treated for breast cancer. Volunteers team up to design and plant outdoor or indoor gardens at the homes of breast cancer patients, to give them and their families a hopeful, calming sanctuary.
