Persian basil is winning well-deserved praise. This basil is easy to grow and it has a great shape, large leaves and a wonderful taste. The flowers, which are also attractive, emerge later, saving time on pinching back the plant. The flavor is described as lemony with spicy notes. We are drawn to plants that can be used throughout the edible, ornamental or mixed garden. While the flowers do emerge a bit later than other basil varieties, they are worth the wait as they attract a plethora of bees and butterflies.
